Another fine group attended the fine Stout style tasting ! Marlond, Ale, Brian, Tony, Clay and Eric. I (Gary) am behind the camera. |

Seven people arrived at Clay Ferguson's home for the February 12th Stout Style Tasting with 8 different commercial Stout brews on hand. We started out with the Black Hawk Stout and it was rated the number one brew at the time. As the evening went on, this brew seemed to fade farther behind until the Shakespeare Stout was brought out. Everyone voted this Stout was rated behind the cleanout pitcher (We rinsed our glasses and poured the rinse into the cleanout pitcher) in 9th place. The Beamish and the Barney Flatts Oatmeal were very close in voting. They were both liked by everyone and the Beamish finally prevailed. The beers were rated in order and is listed below. Overall it was an enjoyable evening. Thanks Clay for putting up with us ! |
