| Scott Wallace held a brew session at his place on Saturday the 24th. He was doing a Monkey on the Mainline Robust Porter and mashed in about 9:30 am. He was shooting for 127 but it came out a little high at 138. Let this sit for a while (with a lot of stirring during this temp) and then got the pressure cooker up to about 22 psi of steam. He opened the valve to inject steam and brought the temp to 157 and held there for an hour with an occasional stir. After the hour he again steam injected to bring the temp to 170 for the mash out. Then started the recirculation and began the sparge. Was a great session and if you did not attend you really missed a good learning experience. |
