Competition Results

Greetings fellow brewers, from the depths of the U.S.Open paperwork!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every brewer, steward, sponsor, judge, and brewing club for helping to make this year's U.S. Open Homebrewing Competition a complete success! I would like to thank Picasso's for agalin allowing us the use of their facilities, and their fine staff for taking care to see that everyone had a great time. It is also necessary to point out the very special ones. Without the help of these find folks the OPEN just would not have been possible:

We are also greatful to our fine sponsors for their support of our cause: Steve, our fine host at Rheinland Haus, Lake Norman Brewing Co., Homebrew Adventures, Southend Brewery, Alternative Beverage, Spring Garden Brewing Co., Great Specialty Beer Distributor, IBF Distributors, Jackson Beverage Distributors, and Johnson Beer Co.

Special thanks to Cathy Cook at Big Head Sky Bread Co. for donating the delicious bread that kept our judges pallets clean.

A very special thank you must go out to my lovely wife, Cynthia, and yet to arrive baby, for tolerating my mess during all of this. (She is still having the U.S.Open experiance as I type this.)

I hope that all have been mentioned, and now that it is over I intend to relax, not worry, and you know....

Sincerely, Ed Gaston '97 coordinator
