August Brew Session
David Segeletes hosted an excellent brew
session with 3 all grain recipes being brewed.
David and Erik also did an excellent job of
smoking a Boston Butt, ribs and chicken. Lots of
commercial beer and homebrews along with some
meads were on hand for attendees tasting
pleasure. Dave tried to serve us from this
box and even set a record throwing the
thermometer pictured. Was a very fun day !

Mead Day
Big crowd was on hand for the Mead Day
activities. Big talks on beekeeping equipment
and an observation hive was on the premises with
live bees. Kevin Martin did an excellent talk
about Mead and Mead background. And a Mead was
made to show how easy it is to make. Was an
enjoyable day for all.

Marc DeLuca |
| Steve started homebrewing in 2005 when a
neighbor was homebrewing. He found out about the
Carolina Brewmasters from Beer Advocate. com. He
attended Oktoberfest and joined
in November of 2005. His favorite styles to brew are
wheat beers and his favorite commercial beer is a
Bells Expedition Stout. |
Mark started homebrewing in the mid 90's but
got away from it and has gotten the bug to get back
into homebrewing this year. He found out about the
Carolina Brewmasters at Alternative Beverage and joined at the July meeting. He currently
does extract brewing but is looking to go all grain
soon. He likes to brew Amber Ales and his favorite
commercial beer is currently Sierra Nevada Torpedo
